Evangelical theologian John Wesley would not recognize the same college that bears his name, especially regarding what values Wesley represented. Gone are the traditional Christian standards of sexual conservatism while liberal sexual expression is dominating a now secular academic standard.
Once a Christian school, Wesleyan University is a microcosm of over-liberalized standards too eager to accommodate sexual preferences. The campus is now offering campus housing for LGBRQQFAGPBDSM students.
To assist those not up to speed on the sexual identification code, that would be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender transsexual, queer, questioning, flexural, asexual, gender****, polyamorous, bondage/disciple, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism. Most people would not have a clue what all the meanings are.
Sorry, straight males looking to have a men’s only fraternity are out of luck…..no, really. Even though Biblical values have worked for centuries, progressives flatly believe the sexual standards are too unreasonable.http://radioboston.wbur.org/2015/02/24/campus-sexual-assault-response
Wesleyan officials, in all their great wisdom, ordered all men only frat houses to admit women. Who knows if the requirement is applicable to sorority houses for admitting men. Can anyone else see the flaw in this directive?
While Wesleyan College is providing separate housing to practically every alternative sexual lifestyle imaginable, straight men must adapt to the changing culture becoming increasingly hostile to religious straight men. One can be labeled “intolerant” and “hateful” for having a frat house for men only.
What is the logic for forcing men’s frat houses to admit women? One would not believe the rationale even if one heard it directly from the sources.
According to the college, the women would be less in danger living in the frat houses than visiting them. In order to combat sexual assaults, the thinkers at Wesleyan declared that men only frat houses cultivated gender-based power dynamics that encourages rape. Although only a percentage of men are guilty of such abhorrent behavior, the penalty is being assessed to all men and all men frat houses.http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/01/30/how-sorority-culture-contributes-to-the-campus-rape-problem/
Gone are the days where wisdom, common sense, and fair play governs. It has now been replaced by over compensating standards for alternative lifestyle sexual expression being validated by the college administration. Meanwhile the liberties of straight men with Christian values are forced to comply with the college’s vision of diversity.
A fair analysis is rarely done regarding sexuality on the college scene. Has anybody bothered to check the correlation between co-ed dorms and sexual assaults since there is an epidemic reporting of sexual assault on college campuses? Frat house parties are focused upon which accounts only for a portion of the sexual attacks on college, however what about the dating and co-ed dorm scene?
The overall decision not to adhere to religious or moral convictions of the student body can bear consequences in student behavior campus wide. Perhaps that approach should be investigated instead of knee jerking that banning male only frat houses will solve the problem of sexual assaults on college campuses. The majority of sexual assaults do not take place on the premises of male only frat houses.
It clearly seems highly contradictory that allowing other sexual preferences to consort in their own premises would noy lead to any type of problems. There is no guarantee that sanctioning other sexual lifestyles in their respective LGBTQQFAGPBDSM housing will not exacerbate problems.
If unabated sexual expression will improve simply by importing females into the frat houses, common sense dictates that sexual issues will not go away exercising that questionable option. The opportunity for more sexual impropriety to result is the more logical expectation. If one of the few non co-ed locations will begin to include females, will it not increase the already sexual assault playing field into the very frat houses? One does not need a Ph.D to figure out that increased risk.
Abstinence, just say no, or setting some reasonable boundaries should be implemented instead of expanding the already wide open liberal approach for dealing with sexuality on college campuses. It escapes the reasoning of liberally minded folks that their policies may be the very problem that is contributing to the problem of sexual assaults on the college circuit.http://thinkprogress.org/health/2015/02/04/3619289/sexual-assault-clery-study/
As liberal sexual practices increase, so does the number of sexual assaults that are reported.
