Is Central Florida not the best location to be in for New Year’s Eve? There are more options for entertainment and parties than one resident can even count. The weather is nicer than most of the country, and the bar has been set high for concerts and venues. The industry knows that locals have high expectations, and the venues, bands, and performers deliver. We are home to some of the best musicians in the country, and quality entertainment is the standard and the norm. What a better excuse than New Year’s Eve, to go out and enjoy it?
If you are not sure where to head out to on Wednesday night, there are so many choices for both the young party crowds, and for families with children as well. Being the theme park capital of the world, there is never an event that you can’t celebrate with even young children. Though the Magic Kingdom on New Year’s Eve can be a packed nightmare, if you can handle the crowds, it is certainly magical. Children will never forget the time that they rang in a brand new year with Tinkerbell and the whole Disney crew amidst fireworks at Cinderella’s castle. Just make sure to get there early, because they often have to turn guests away at this time of year.
If you want something less crowded, Disney Quest at Downtown Disney is hosting an event of its own that is also family-friendly. Downtown Disney is a great environment for both adults and children to celebrate the New Year together. It is fun and festive and there are lots of restaurants and entertainment to satisfy both the young and the seasoned. Of course, there is also Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well. Speaking of Epcot, there is a special dining experience that you can purchase tickets for. Disney always finds ways to make every moment even more magical, so look into options for any of the four main parks if you want additional amenities. Just don’t be surprised if many are booked or sold out at this late hour.
For those of you without children, or who were lucky enough to score a great sitter, your options are endless. Our local entertainment for adults is through the roof exciting, and you may have a hard time just picking one place to spend the night. Hopping locations may just be a must, unless you spend a lot of money at one event. There are some options that seem to cost a little more, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.
The New Year’s Eve Block Party at Wall Street Plaza provides 8 venues for the price of 1. The tickets are $25 presale, $30 on New Year’s Eve. There is an outdoor dance party and light show. At Universal City Walk there is also a giant outdoor dance floor. You can party with champagne and pyrotechnics, and ring in the New Year with hundreds of friends in one place. DJ M-Squared is providing the main entertainment. This is not a cheap party, however, at $129.99 general admission. You can purchase a VIP ticket for $159.99 that provides access to private bars, cabanas, and drink specials.
The best local New Year’s experiences don’t have to break the bank. There is a party at The Abbey starting at 10 pm for $20 at the door, $15 in advance. This includes free champagne all evening. Experienced local professional bands perform all over the area at some of your favorite bars and clubs for a fraction of the bigger parties, and can be even more fun, sometimes in a more intimate setting. Check the websites and facebook pages of your favorite local bands to see where they are at this Wednesday night.
If you are willing to take a little drive, local favorite One Wild Nite will be rocking the Jagermeister Stage at the Full Moon Saloon at Dirty Harry’s Pub & Package in Daytona. The fun starts at 8:00 pm, so gather your friends and head out early. Consider booking a room so you can fully and safely enjoy a crazy fun start to 2015. Please remember to appoint a designated driver or bring cab money to any event you attend this year. Every bar owner and musician wishes their patrons and audience a safe New Year’s experience and a wonderful 2015.
