Vision and growth for 2015 as years are flying by where do you see yourself in the next five years. My audience is approximately 40 to 60. Therefore, our five-year plans should include retirement, future investments, health, fitness and mental well-being. So where are you? Do you plan to lose 25 pounds next year? Hopefully, you are not working on putting on another 25 pounds during the holidays because you want to enjoy yourself and plan to get it off in January. Let us look at past plans to set realistic goals and make workable plans. Only you can turn your life around. Start out each morning with a clear intent to take care of yourself. Create non-negotiable plans to stay on track. Make an appointment with your Doctor for a checkup; go to the dentist and get your eyes checked out. Next, start a financial check list. Can you afford to charge your credit cards to the maximum limit buying Christmas gifts or do you have to get serious about your bills, savings and investment plans.
How old will you be when you retire, I plan to retire at 55 years old. Well, I am 51 now. Seriously, I still have a mortgage, credit cards and need a new car. Therefore, my plan needs to include these debts. I have decided to start paying cash instead of charging. Furthermore, to stop shopping and start paying off the credit cards and saving money for the new car?
Instead of the promise to diet and workout in 2015. Let’s start a new diet plan. It is called a financial diet. No eating out for lunch, bring your lunch every day for nine days on the tenth day you can go out to lunch; then start over. Cut out all luxuries for 14 days. For example, wash your own car; skip the nail shop and no unnecessary shopping. On the 15th day pick a treat; the nail shop, car wash or shopping not all three pleasures. Yes, those are indulgences and not necessities. Pay your saving as if it is the electric bill even if it is $20.00 per week. If you eat out 5 days a week you spend an average of $5.00 to $10.00 dollars a day. Do you see where I am going? Replace your spending activities with revenue generating activities?
What is your plan for 2015? I hope that you are not still planning a workout program in January to be healthy and fit but dropping the goal by February. Start off transforming your future right now; not in January but today. Let us start by making realistic changes and setting new goals. Have consistent results by changing your surroundings. Are your friends fit or fat; rich or poor; negative or positive? Whom you hang around is who you become. Next, please do not start an eating frenzy Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Promise to be healthy and sensible; eat one slice of cake not four. Make small portions on your plate. Try the five small meals every day; eating every two to three hours. By following the small meal plan you do not over eat at any particular meal because your body knows the food is coming again soon.
