A woman who stabbed her boyfriend did so because he ate all the salsa, leaving none for her. That must have been some killer snack to start such a serious event that left the boyfriend with a stab wound from a knife an also from a ball point pen.
According to Yahoo News on March 31, the Akron, Ohio, woman has been charged with felonious assault. It was 61-year-old Ronnie Buckner who told police that his girlfriend, Phyllis Jefferson, 50, was with him at his apartment on Sunday when she started to yell at home for finishing off the salsa.
Jefferson’s yelling escalated and she grabbed a pen and stabbed him with it. During the scuffle Jefferson threatened to knock the TV over and when it started to teeter, Buckner reached to stop it from falling. When he did this Jefferson ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and came at him with it, stabbing him again.
When Buckner called 911 the irate girlfriend fled the apartment, but police were able to catch up to her on Interstate 77, spotting her car and pulling her over. She did admit to the police that she stabbed her boyfriend. She said she did so because she “wanted to leave,” according to the Huffington Post. As the Huffington Post suggests, Phyllis Jefferson’s “temper may be as hot as her salsa.” She ended up stabbing Buckner in the groin.
Buckner’s stab wound was serious enough that he needed to be hospitalized. Although police do not believe that his wound is life-threatening. Along with her felonious charge, Jefferson is also charged with the misdemeanor of criminal endangering. What kind of salsa was this?
