Sunday night’s WWE Extreme Rules 2015 results for the finished matches are coming in with new championship winners crowned and more. Among the bouts that completed were the United States Championship match, Tag Team title match and a crazy Chicago Street Fight featuring Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose. A few new title winners were crowned in the process too.
According to PW Torch in their April 26 report, there are new champions as of tonight’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view as New Day managed to grab the win against Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Big E and Kofi Kingston competed for their side, with Xavier Woods playing a factor on the outside. At one part of the match, Woods was able to run a bit of interference on the apron, leading to Natalya getting involved and Kofi Kingston able to steal a rollup pinfall on Cesaro to capture the titles. That will start a brand new championship reign in the tag division.
While Daniel Bryan’s Intercontinental Title defense didn’t happen as he was out of action due to injury. Wade Barrett still competed on the Kickoff Show. He was defeated by rising star Neville, who recently came to WWE from NXT. Also among the pay-per-view winners, Nikki Bella was able to defend her WWE Divas title after her sister Brie delivered a kick to Naomi’s head through the ropes. John Cena and Rusev fought in a Russian Chain match chained to each other with Cena eventually able to reach the final corner he needed to tap after hitting an Attitude Adjustment on Rusev.
Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose started the show off in a Chicago Street Fight, which eventually went backstage into the arena garage. Harper and Ambrose ended up fighting inside an SUV which Harper drove off with Ambrose jumping into the passenger window. They eventually came driving back to the arena and crashing backstage during a Renee Young interview with the new tag champions. The match got back to the ring where Harper managed to throw 10 chairs on Ambrose. However, Ambrose broke free and was able to toss Harper off the corner before hitting him with a finishing move for the win.
Still to come during the event would be a Last Man Standing match featuring Roman Reigns and Big Show. Also, Seth Rollins is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a steel cage match against Randy Orton. Orton has been banned from using his RKO finisher in the match. Also, Kane from The Authority has been ordered to be special gatekeeper on the outside of the cage door, making for an extra interesting stipulation in Chicago.
