Tonight, February 22, 2015, WWE presented the first annual Fast Lane pay per view. Tonight’s show was held in the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Here are the results.
On the online Kickoff pre-show, The Miz (with Damian Mizdow) interviewed Paul Heyman about Brock Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship title defense at WrestleMania XXXI.
In the opening match, The Big Show, Kane and Seth Rollins (with Jaime Noble and Joey Mercury) beat Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan in a six-man tag match. Kane pinned Ziggler after Big Show hit Ziggler with a knockout punch. Post-match, Rollins and company continued to attack Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback until Randy Orton made his return and cleared the ring. He hit Kane with a RKO and tossed the Money in the Bank briefcase at Rollins who high tailed it out of the arena.
In the locker room, Dusty Rhodes talked with his son Goldust about his upcoming match against his other son Stardust, and asked Goldust not to hurt Stardust.
Goldust pinned Stardust after countering Cross Rhodes into a roll up. The finish was botched as the referee audibly said “three” but didn’t strike the mat a third time. Post-match, Goldust offered his hand to Stardust, but Stardust rolled away.
They then showed clips of the recent “feud” between Seth Rollins and Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show.”
Backstage, Goldust and Dusty talked about the match, but Stardust showed up again and attacked his brother Goldust and cut one helluva promo on his Dad, reminding them again that Cody Rhodes is dead thanks to Dusty and that only Stardust lives on.
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (with Natalya) beat WWE Tag Team Champions (Jimmy & Jey Uso) (with Naomi). Kidd pinned Jimmy after hitting a Fisherman’s neckbreaker.
Triple H (dressed like 2002) then came out to the ring and called out Sting. Sting came out and stood face-to-face with Triple H as Triple H talked about Sting’s legacy in WCW and how it can be reinvigorated in 2015 thanks to the WWE machine and the WWE Network, or it can all vanish. Triple H then said it was obvious Sting made his choice and took a swing at him. Triple H then retrieved his sledgehammer but was intercepted by Sting with his baseball. Sting then pushed Triple H to the corner with the bat shoved under Triple H’s throat. Sting then pointed at the WrestleMania sign hanging up in the rafters, indicting he wants a match between the two for WrestleMania. Sting then walked away and Triple H tried to cheap shot him, but Sting blocked him and dropped him mid-ring with a Scorpion Death Drop.
WWE Divas Champoin Nikki Bella (with Brie Bella) pinned Paige with a rollup and a handful of tights.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett beat Dean Ambrose by disqualification. Post-match Ambrose hit Barrett with Dirty Deeds and left with Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship.
Undertaker’s signature theme music hit, followed by a host of druids that led a casket to ringside. Inside the casket was Bray Wyatt instead of Undertaker. Wyatt called Undertaker and weak and broken and called himself the new face of fear, essentially challenging Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania.
WWE United States Champion Rusev (with Lana) made John Cena pass out while trapped in the Accolade. Lana distracted the referee, allowing Rusev to hit Cena with a low blow and lock in the Accolade for a second time to get the victory.
In the main event, Roman Reigns pinned Daniel Bryan with a spear. Post-match, Bryan begrudgingly shook his hand. As a result, Reigns will now challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXXI.
