How dead was that Memphis crowd? A good crowd could enhance or deflate a match, especially if the announcers are quiet and make it noticeable.
Goldust vs Stardust—.
*My pick-Goldust for 100% bias reasons*
Goldust wins this horribly boring match by a roll up. I don’t dislike the ending, but the match drug on for far too long. Cody Rhodes can not keep a story going for that long. The Memphis crowd was really quiet in this match, but maybe that was because this was an awful match (probably because they weren’t a hot crowd at all).
The Usos vs Cesaro & Tyson Kidd—
*My pick-The Uso’s*
Tyson Kidd is a fantastic worker and Cesaro is in the same category. I am glad that they got the win over the Uso’s. This could be a really good feud if they do it right. I just hope they don’t put these two teams in singles matches because Kidd and Cesaro are light years ahead of the Uso’s in singles competition.
Dolph Ziggler, Eric Rowan, Ryback vs Big Show, Kane, Seth Rollins—
I have a feeling we will see this match replayed probably 4 more times in the next two months, and that is being conservative. I think we’ll end up seeing almost all of these guys in the battle royal. Seth Rollins has stepped up his game so much as he became one of my favorites to watch. I hope they give him something good for WrestleMania. Hello, Randy Orton! The Viper came back on t.v and it was the first time I have seen him since he ran in on WWE D.C (off air, of course). If they set up that match, that will probably be my sleeper pick for ‘match of the night’.
Divas Champion Nikki Bella vs Paige—
*My pick–Nikki Bella to set up WrestleMania*
I said Paige is probably my favorite Diva of all time and I think that’s going to stand. She is such a gifted wrestler, you can tell her family is in the business. I don’t mind Nikki Bella being the top heel Diva, just not with the belt. There are so many other divas that are way better than Cena’s two best friends.
Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett vs Dean Ambrose—
*My pick–Barrett retains but Ambrose wins the match.*
By no mean’s do I think I’m a genius (that’s not true), but its just too predictable sometimes. I liked how Ambrose came off at the end of the match, but not how Barrett came off. He’s a 5 time (5 time, 5 time) Intercontinental champion and his gimmick is he is a tough guy. I hope to see something really special with these to at the ‘Granddaddy of them All’.
US Champion Rusev vs John Cena—
*My pic-Rusev wins by DQ*
This won my pick for ‘Match of the Night’. Rusev is incredibly impressive and his style went well with Cena’s powerhouse 6 moves (I kid Mr.Cena). Cena has got to the point where his side of the matches are going up in rating so it’s not just someone else carrying the whole load. With Rusev (getting the dirty win) putting Cena in his finisher, I like where they can go with this feud.
Sting and Triple H Face to Face—
I’m not sure why they are not having Sting talk, but for the most part, I like the set up for this match. It’s not the first WWE match I would have Sting do, but HHH has to put his nose (pun intended) in the hot topic. He did with the quitter, then D-Bry and now Sting. If he goes over Sting, I will lose my mind (or probably look for some socks to throw). It is official, Sting vs HHH at WrestleMania.
When the druid music hit and they started to walk out with the torches, excitement peaked for everyone! The gong hit and the casket was walked down to the ring and speculation about the Undertaker returning came to a halt. When the casket was at ringside, it was opened to reveal that Bray Wyatt was inside! Best. Moment. of. 2015! Now we know who Bray has been talking about in all of these promo’s (unless you have been reading the online spoilers). This was the highlight of the night and made this pay per view better than any of the matches. Well done, Bray Wyatt! Well done!
#1 Contenders Match Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan—
I saw a few reports and postings that said the crowd was split down the middle. It was more like split down the 70/30 mark, which is why after the win the camera went real tight on Reigns’ fans. It was real tight. They will try anything to get what they want to be popular. I didn’t think it was a great match. Daniel Bryan did everything he could to try to make Reigns look strong. In a few years we can look back and see who is in a bigger position, and if he’s still in the company then, its easily Daniel Bryan. I like to watch Pro Wrestling because of the quality of the pro wrestling, not because a guy looks like a star.
I apologize to you, Paige, for picking against you. I will never use my brain over my heart again! This was a decent pay per view, but it didn’t have enough. Bray Wyatt coming out in the casket was just magical. Last year, Wyatt got the Mania match versus Cena and this year he get’s the Undertaker. 2016’s WrestleMania better be headlined by Bray Wyatt in the main event. He is easily the best thing going on WWE T.V right now (NXT coming in second)!
